
Busy Sunday for Hilltop Volunteers!
We started at 0350 this morning for Mutual Aid to Kent County, MD for a Structure Fire. Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company was initially dispatched for a smoke investigation in the 24000 Block of Langford Rd. Kent County Sheriff’s Office went on location with a house fully involved, the call was than upgraded, pulling Engine 55 and eventually Engine/Tanker 5. Engine 55 and Chief 5 (Duty Officer) operated with Chestertown’s crews extinguishing the fire in the collapsed dwelling while Engine/Tanker 5 assisted with water supply. Our units operated for 4 hours with 8 Volunteers.
Around 1520 the Hilltop Volunteers were alerted along with QAC Emergency Services for a Motor Vehicle Collision MD RT 301 SB at Hayden Road (Welcome Center). Engine 52 & Engine 55 arrived with Paramedics 400 & 500 and EMS3 (EMS Supervisor) to find a 2 vehicle MVC. Units operated for 20 minutes, with 12 Volunteers, before clearing after 2 patients were transported for minor injuries.
