Two Dogs Rescued from Residential Fire
The 0512 box assignment was dispatched at 1102 hours for a dwelling fire at 101 Concord Road in the Chester Harbor development. Captain VanZant arrived on scene and reported a single story wood frame dwelling with smoke issuing from the front door. All occupants had exited the residence. First arriving Kent Engine 6 was directed to deploy a handline to a front bedroom where they located a well advanced fire. Engine 55 stretched a second hand line, opened up and checked for extension. Kent Tower 6 was assigned smoke removal via positive pressure ventilation. Other units on the assignment were staged. Two dogs were rescued from the residence and reunited with their owner. The fire is being investigated by the Office of the State Fire Marshal. Captain VanZant had Concord Road command with units operating for about 90 minutes.
