Double Flyout from MVC with Entrapment
Company 5 and DES EMS were alerted for an MVC with entrapment at the Price Station intersection on Route 301. With the Squad being briefly out of service for hose testing, Engine 55 and Special Unit 59 took in the run and requested two additional rescue’s to fulfill the assignment. Units arrived to find a two vehicle MVC with three patients, one of which was still pinned in the vehicle. Crews competed a sidewall removal to gain further access and it was determined the patients lower extremity was still pinned. R4 arrived and assisted with the extrication. Once freed, the patient was turned over to EMS. Aviation was requested for two of the patients and MSP Trooper’s 6 & 1 transported them to Shock Trauma, with Engine Tanker 5 handling the LZ. A60 handled one transport to Chestertown. Assistant Chief Hurlock was assigned extrication group and Chief Williams had the Price Station Command.
