
Early Morning Kitchen Fire in Town
5:45 this morning Hilltop Volunteers were alerted along with Goodwill Fire Company, Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company, Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company along with Queen Anne’s County Department of Emergency Services for a Dwelling Fire in the 500 block of Main Street. Engine Tanker 5 arrived behind Paramedic 500 to find fire in the Kitchen with smoke coming from the front door. 502 (Asst. Chief Hurlock) established command, while the crew from ET5 stretched a handline and attached the fire, while conducting a search. Engine 55 reversed laid from the scene to the towns north well location for water supply. Quint 6 setup ventilation and lighting, while Engine 45 and Engine 6’s crew assisted with overhaul. All occupants were accounted for with a dog and cat still in the residence. Both were located later okay, with the Dog needing oxygen supplied by a donation from Every Snout Counts. Hilltop Volunteers operated for 2 hours and cleared the scene Turning it over to the homeowner.
