Just after 0500, Engine 55 and Tower Ladder 5 were dispatched on Kent County Box 6004 for a dwelling fire in the 7000 block of Pomona Road, outside of Chestertown. Both units were on the 1st alarm assignment and responded with 8 personnel. Our crews arrived to find a single family dwelling, well involved in fire. Kent Engine 68 was making an attack from the rear of the structure, knocking down a large amount of fire. The Engine and Tower crews advanced a line into the front door and knocked down several rooms. Additional crews made entry from the rear as well. Units worked for 2 hours knocking down hidden pockets of fire on the #1 and #2 floors, cutting some inspection holes in the roof in the process.
