Friday Night Barn Fire
On Friday, May 14th at 6:16PM Hilltop Volunteers along with Goodwill Fire Company, Goldsboro Volunteer Fire Company, Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company & Queen Anne’s County Department of Emergency Services were alerted for a Large Structure (Barn) Fire. 603 (Asst. Chief Apple) went on location with a large barn 35% involved from the 2nd level and established command.
Prior to our arrival, it was upgraded to 100% involved and a “Tanker Task Force” (4 Tankers & 1 Engine) was requested.
Engine/Tanker 5 arrived along with E64, QT6, TN6 & CE703. ET5 laid a supply line up an additional farm lane due to limited space at the scene and utilized the 2 1/2″ hose until Tower Ladder 5 arrived. TL5 placed their master stream in service while crews knocked hot spots from the safe zones.
Command was later transferred to 501 (Chief Williams) and the Hilltop Volunteers remained on scene to perform overhaul.
